Graveyard Mousse Cups
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
- ¾ cups cold heavy cream, divided
½ cup good-quality chocolate chips or coarsely chopped chocolate (6 ounces)
1 cup Oreo cookies, crushed
Candy bone decorations
Tombstone cookies
Mini plastic serving cups
Instructions:
- Prepare mousse ingredients – In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, warm ¼ cup of cream. When steaming but not boiling, add ½ cup chocolate chips and stir to combine. Remove from heat and set aside to allow chocolate to melt. When melted, whisk the chocolate and cream until smooth and fully combined. Set aside.
2. Combine mousse – In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat remaining cream until soft peaks form. Using a large spatula, fold the whipped cream into the chocolate in three batches.
3. Add mousse to cups – Add mousse to serving cups and refrigerate uncovered for 1 hour.
4. Decorate – Top mousse with Oreo cookie crumbles, a tombstone cooky, and a candy bone. Get our favorite sugar cookie recipe to create tombstone cookies. We topped ours with purple royal icing and used a black gel icing pen to decorate them.
