We love Haunted Mansion inspired decor and wanted to create a spooky wreath that could be used inside our home or on our front door. Below is a simple and inexpensive tutorial to create your own Haunted Mansion DIY wreath with a cemetery vibe.
This wreath was created with an inexpensive grapevine wreath from Joann Fabrics, moss and florals from our own garden, black artificial roses from Dollar Tree, and a skeleton hand from Joann Fabrics. Our total cost for this project was only $12 and took under an hour. Get our step-by-step tutorial below.
This wreath was featured on our Haunted Mansion dinner party.
1. Create a base – We liked the extra leaves on the wreath and left it in its natural state. Using a hot glue gun, add natural moss and fern fronds. Allow the moss to hang off the bottom ever so slightly to create a natural look. We covered the wreath from approximately 3 o’clock to 10 o’clock and left the remainder bare.
2. Add florals – Add clusters of black roses over the moss and fern covered area. Between the roses we added dried coneflower centers for texture and interest.
3. Attach a skeleton hand – Finish the wreath by wiring a skeleton hand to the bottom. We like the look of the hand reaching up.
4. Add a Haunted Mansion sign – We added a farmhouse style “Foolish Mortals” sign that we created. There are many cute designs available on Etsy, or you can create your own using a stencil and piece of wood.
