the Tablescape & Decor
This sweet Halloween spread is inspired by Mickey Ghost himself! The color palette of white and shades of pink is accented by black bats, a spooky tree, and glittery pumpkins. Get all the details and shopping links below.
We used a soft pink tablecloth on the dessert table and set our favorite white brick backdrop behind it.
We added one-inch Mickey ears to our favorite string of ghost lights and strung them across the backdrop. Cardstock ears secured with straight pins or black felt ears adhered with hot glue both work great.
We added our favorite paper bats to the backdrop and decorated our dessert table with apothecary jars filled with pink & white treats, some jack-o-lanterns that we painted off-white, and a little wooden Mickey Ghost.
We used a white tablecloth with a black cheesecloth as a runner on our dining table. Our centerpiece was made up of a spooky black tree pumpkins in our color palette of pink, white, and black with accents of gold.
We purchased the pink and white velvet pumpkins at Target last year but found that they are still available through Amazon. They are some of my favorites for fall. I love the texture of the velvet and the touch of gold. We spray painted some craft pumpkins gold to add to the centerpiece.
We love the spooky tree. It adds so much dimension without looking heavy and gives off a wonderfully spooky vibe. Ours is 17 inches tall and has velvety branches. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but we found a similar one on Amazon. This version lights up so if you don’t care for the lights they can be removed.
We rounded out our centerpiece with two medium sized black pumpkins. The 8-inch glittery pumpkin was from Michaels last year and the black light up Mickey pumpkin can be purchased at Kohls.
Target has such of the cutest party dishes and they were perfect for this theme! We layered their inexpensive pink Room Essentials plates with some darling Hyde and Eek Halloween candy melamine plates. The place setting sat atop a fun Threshold spiderweb faux leather charger. Since we served all finger foods no flatware was needed. We paired the place settings with a pink paper napkin and a glass milk bottle filled decorated with a custom “Boo to You!” bottle wrapper and pink and white striped straw.
The Menu
Our menu was inspired by Mickey Ghost and his friend, Mickey Bat. We chose simple and fun party foods that are quick and easy to prepare. Get all the recipes and details below.
Strawberry Milk
This sweet concoction is perfect for any pink themed party! We simply added strawberry syrup to our milk and whisked it to combine. We added it to glass milk bottles wrapped in a custom “Boo to You!” bottle wrapper and added a pink and white striped straw.
Mickey Halloween Fruit
We love serving fruit at our parties because it’s yummy and healthy. This fruit gets a little extra special Halloween touch. We added black candy melts and mini chocolate chips to our bananas to create ghosts. The Mickey clementine pumpkins have orange candy melts for ears and a celery stem. These treats go together in just a few minutes and will be a hit with all your guests!
Popcorn in Mickey Ghost Bags
Popcorn is the classic party food! We created themed bags using a custom Mickey Ghost printable and pink paper bags from Dollar Tree. We served classic popcorn, but caramel corn would be fun too. For an extra touch, you could add M & M’s and candy Mickeys using candy melts and our favorite silicone Mickey mold.
Mickey Ghost Cakesicles
These Mickey Ghost cakesicles are made with creamy strawberry cake filling and a sweet, crunchy candy coating. They get a dash of Disney magic with black candy melt ears and gel icing features. Get our complete tutorial and information on the mold we used here.
Mickey Bat Oreo Cookies
We’re going bats! These cookies may be the easiest Disney treats we’ve ever made. They take just four ingredients and around 5 minutes. But, make sure you make a big batch because your guests might not be able to stop eating them! Get our easy recipe here.
Mickey Ghost Cupcakes & Peeps
We can’t decide which we enjoyed more – the strawberry vanilla cupcakes or Mickey Ghost peeps! These yummy treats can be eaten separately or you can pop the Peep on top of the cupcake for a fun topper. Get our cupcake recipe and tutorial to transform Ghost Peeps into Mickey Ghost.
"Boo to You" Cotton Candy Favors
Send your guests home with something sweet! We filled small treat bags with pink cotton candy and topped them with custom “Boo to You!” gift labels. We arranged the bags on a bat serving plate with a few extra Mickey Ghost Peeps.
Mickey Ghost Thumbprint Pumpkins
If you’d like to incorporate a fun craft activity into your festivities we recommend this easy, cute and very kid friendly Mickey Ghost thumbprint pumpkin. We painted inexpensive craft pumpkins pink prior to the party and set a pumpkin on each plate. Each guest received a small bowl of white paint to add thumbprints. When those dried they added black ears and features. You can read all about this project here. We share the full tutorial and shopping links for the products we used.
