Mickey Ghost is ready for a hauntingly fun Halloween party so we’ve whipped up a batch of Mickey Ghost cakesicles made with creamy strawberry cake filling and a sweet, crunchy candy coating.
These treats were served on our Mickey Ghost Halloween party but would also be a fun treat for any Halloween party.
Mickey Ghost Cakesicles
Ingredients:
- White Candy Melts
- Strawberry Cupcakes – ½ cupcake per cakesicle
- Strawberry Frosting – 1 tablespoon per cakesicle
- Black Candy Melts
- Black Gel Pen
Equipment:
- Cakesicle Mold
- Popsicles Sticks
Instructions:
Make cakesicle shell – Melt candy melts as directed on the package. Spoon candy melts into the reservoir of a cakesicle mold and gently spread up the sides of the mold. Repeat the process with remaining candy melts. Set aside and allow to harden completely.
Make cakesicle filling – In a medium bowl, crumble cupcakes. Add frosting and mix thoroughly. The mixture should be moist and should easily clump together. Once cakesicle shells have hardened. Add the filling to each cakesicle. Press down completely and smooth the top leaving a ¼” space to add more candy melt. Carefully insert popsicle sticks.
Finish cakesickles – If you have leftover candy melts, re-melt them. Otherwise, melt a few more candy melts. Spoon over top of cakesickle filling. Gently tap mold to release air bubbles. Set aside and allow to harden.
Decorate – Once cakesicles are completely hardened, gently pop out of molds. Use a bit of melted candy melt to adhere two black candy melts to on to the cakesicle for Mickey Ghost’s ears.
Finally, use a black gel icing pen to draw on Mickey Ghost’s features.
