Casey from Sunshine Tree Home is featuring her adorable WALL-E themed movie night. This theme is full of cute details and is perfect for Earth Day or a WALL-E birthday party too. Get all the details, recipes, and shopping links below to host this party!
WALL-E Table Decor
Some of our favorite details from Casey’s WALL-E tablescape to look for:
- WALL-E’s Trinkets & Treasures Centerpiece – Casey involved her kids in the collection of “trash & trinkets” to create this centerpiece showcased in an old cooler. Do you see the nod she gives to Toy Story?
- Modernist Eve inspired place settings & Mickey Mouse Glassware
- Printable BnL napkin rings with Green Sporks – So fun!
- Peat Pot Seedling Place Cards – Casey’s kids planted these seedlings in anticipation of their movie night. They chose biodegradable pots for their project and used Zinnia seeds which attract bees and butterflies. Guests were invited to take their seedling home as a favor. You can link to the products they used at the end of this post.
The Food
Casey did a great job creating an Earth-friendly menu inspired by the characters and themes in the film. The dishes she created will appeal to a variety of ages and tastes. You can get all the recipes below.
Fire Roasted tomato & Spiced Chickpea Bowls
SERVED WITH WALL-E'S COLLECTION OF TOPPINGs
Hummus & Pita Chips
Casey opted for a meat-free menu. The hearty chickpeas were served over couscous and guests were able to customize their bowls with a buffet of delicious toppings including lemon wedges, cucumbers, feta cheese, yogurt, black olives, hummus, and pita chips. Casey purchased her hummus and pita chips locally through Water Street Deli. You can get the Spiced Chickpea Bowls recipe from Pinch of Yum here.
Down to Earth Fruit Plate
Casey created an adorable and healthy planet Earth fruit plate using kiwi, blueberries, and strawberries. If you look closely you’ll find a hidden Mickey over Orlando. This is an adorable idea!
Hal's Twinkie
No WALL-E movie night or party would be complete with Twinkies! This treat is named in honor of WALL-E’s pet cockroach named Hal. A Pixar artist named the cockroach Hal in reference to a silent film producer named Hal Roach as well as HAL 9000 from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Casey plated these Twinkie’s with some plastic cockroaches. This is such a fun and easy detail.
Septuacentennial cupcake in a cup
This simple yet delicious treat gets a special twist! Casey created these milkshakes using birthday cake ice cream and topped them with whipped cream and a cherry. The birthday cake ice cream adds colorful sprinkles throughout and the red and white striped milkshake straws tie the colors together perfectly. Get a tutorial here to create the perfect milkshake.
