Instructions:
- Make cookies – Melt candy melts according to package directions. Tint it with a small amount of orange food coloring. Stir thoroughly. Using a round cookie mold, place a layer of orange candy melt in the bottom of each reservoire. Next, top with an Oreo cookie. Finally, spoon orange candy melt over the cookie and fill in gaps. Gently tap mold to release air bubbles. Set aside and allow to harden for at least one hour. Once candy melt has completely hardened pop out and set aside.
2. Make muzzle & nose – Lightly dust your work surface with powdered sugar. Roll out white fondant to ⅛” thickness. Cut out a ½” circle for each cookie. Gently shape each into an ovular shape. Place on the bottom third of the cookie as a muzzle. Roll out pink fondant and cut out a ¼” triangle for each cookie. Place on the top center of each muzzle as the nose.
3. Make eyes – Lightly dust your work surface with powdered sugar. Roll out white fondant to ⅛” thickness. Cut out two ¾” circles for each cookie. Gently shape each into an ovular shape. Place two ¾” ovals on the top half of the cookie as eyes. Next repeat the process using green fondant and cut out two ½” circles for each cookie. Place over the fondant eyes leaving a white border around the edge of each eye.
4. Make ears – Cut two triangular shapes out of each orange Starburst. Roll out pink fondant and cut out a triangle approximately ¼” smaller and add it to the top of the Starburst ear. Warm candy melt according to package directions. Using a toothpick, paint some candy melt on the bottom of the Starburst ear and adhere to the top of the covered Oreo cookie.
