Entertain with Magic
Lady and the Tramp is one of our family’s favorites, and it lends itself so beautifully to a cozy, romantic dinner at home. With its timeless story, soft Italian charm, and a little candlelight, this Disney dinner theme feels especially perfect for Valentine’s Day entertaining or an intimate date night in.
This Lady & the Tramp dinner is designed to feel warm, inviting, and unhurried. From the table to the menu, every detail works together to create a simple but meaningful themed celebration—one that feels special without feeling complicated. Add a little music, light a few candles, and it’s sure to be a bella notte.
To evoke the cozy charm of Tony’s Restaurant, we started with a classic white tablecloth layered with a red-and-white gingham topper—an instant nod to old-world Italian warmth. The palette is simple and timeless, letting the story do the talking while keeping the table inviting rather than overdone.
Simple white dishes with subtle red details set the foundation, paired with red-handled flatware, basic clear goblets, and red napkins folded into sweet bows. Each place setting sat atop our DIY bone placemats, adding a playful wink to the theme while still feeling thoughtful and cohesive. You can find our bow napkin folding tutorials here.
For the centerpiece, we leaned into romance and nostalgia. A dozen red roses—always a classic—were loosely arranged in a vintage glass jar, flanked by a “Bella Notte” wine bottle candle holder and a simple jar of breadsticks, just like you might find on a cozy restaurant table in Italy. We created a custom wine label to match the theme and added it to an empty bottle, transforming it into a soft, glowing focal point for the table. You can download the free printable linked here to create your own Bella Notte wine bottle candle holder at home.
The serving buffet housed apothecary jars and bowls filled with fruits from the Mediterranean region as well as a European dessert stand displaying our trio of desserts. The result is a dining space that feels warm, romantic, and welcoming—simple enough to recreate, but layered with just enough detail to transport guests straight into the story.

Our Lady & the Tramp dinner menu is full of comforting, Italian-inspired dishes that fit the theme perfectly. Designed to feel just as romantic as the table, the menu focuses on classic flavors, cozy favorites, and a touch of nostalgia. All of the recipes featured are linked below, making it easy to recreate this dinner at home for a Valentine’s Day celebration or special evening in.
Italian soda is such a sweet and festive drink for guests of all ages. This recipe is hands-down the easiest recipe I have ever seen – sparkling water, strawberry syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles. It’s so easy and such a treat!
This Valentine’s themed antipasto board is filled with Italian meats & cheeses, fresh fruits, baguette and bread sticks. There’s something tasty for everyone!
Caesar salad is a classic and is always a nice pairing with pasta. The salad of Romaine lettuce, croutons and Parmesan cheese is simple to assemble and can be made with bottled dressing or your favorite homemade recipe.
These “Bone” breadsticks were adorable and very fun to make. I tend to be a “from scratch” kind of gal, but the kids really enjoyed these and using pre-made breadstick dough is definitely easy.
Spaghetti & meatballs is a treat for all ages! Here is a recipe for Lady & The Tramp spaghetti & meatballs from Disney Food Blog. If you’re in a pinch for time you can also grab some frozen meatballs, a jar of marinara, and some boxed spaghetti at your favorite supermarket.
I don’t know about you, but I love going out for dinner and being offered not one, not two, but a whole buffet of miniature desserts to sample! For this dinner we created three sweet treats inspired by the film: Spaghetti & Meatball Cookies, Tiramisu Mousse Cups, and Dark Chocolate-Sea Salt Bone Cookies.
These cookies are so much fun to make. Inspired by the spaghetti & meatball cupcakes served at Mama Melrose in Hollywood Studios, these cookies are a favorite! All you need are round sugar cookies and royal icing in light yellow and red. The meatball is actually a Ferrero Rocher truffle! Get the recipe from Sugar, Spice, and Glitter.
Tiramisu is a favorite Italian dessert for good reason. It is rich, creamy, decadent, and utterly heavenly! I don’t know about you, but my favorite part is the mousse. Crazy for Crust created this easy recipe that uses just a few simple ingredients and delivers the best part of the dessert: the mousse. Check out their recipe here.
I am a huge chocolate fan and love the combination of sea salt and dark chocolate. We created bone sugar cookies using our favorite sugar cookie recipe. Then we dunked the ends in dark chocolate and sprinkled them with sea salt. The combination of flavors is absolutely divine!
