Caramel apples are one of yummiest fall treats but they’re not always so easy to eat. Create a caramel apple charcuterie board with slices of juicy apples, caramel dip and melted chocolate and all the toppings you could ever want.
Caramel Apple Charcuterie Board
Ingredients
- Variety of Apples: I like to choose two or three apple types of varying flavors and colors. For this board we used Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Gala apples.
- Sauces: We used our favorite Mickey bowl to hold caramel and melted chocolate. White chocolate, salted caramel or peanut butter would also be delicious.
- Dipping Toppings: We kept it simple and offered toffee bits, mini chocolate chips, and mini M & M’s as well as mini marshmallows. There are so many other delicious options such as chopped nuts, Reese’s Pieces, candy bits, Oreo cookie bits, and cupcake sprinkles.
- Candy: We love adding a few caramels to our board. Caramels are available in many delicious flavors. You might also add gummy candies or other favorite movie candies.
Equipment
- Large Tray
- Bowls to hold sauces and toppings
- Wooden skewers for dipping the apples
Instructions:
1. Warm sauces and pour into a bowls. We used the largest reservoir in our Mickey bowl for caramel and added melted chocolate to the ears. Alternately, use several smaller bowls for sauces and arrange them in the center of the tray.
2. Place dipping toppings in small bowls and add them to the center of the tray.
3. Thinly slice apples. If you’re serving your caramel apple charcuterie board later, consider dipping the apple slices into lemon lime soda or a bit of lemon juice to prevent browning. Arrange apples around perimeter of the tray.
4. Fill open spaces with candies and marshmallows. Serve with wooden skewers for easy dipping.
