An antipasto board is one of the easiest ways to create a beautiful, crowd-pleasing start to any gathering. Filled with a mix of Italian meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, and bread, it’s designed for sharing and lingering at the table. One simple detail can instantly elevate the presentation: shaping the cheese with a cookie cutter. Whether you choose a classic shape or something playful this small touch transforms a traditional antipasto board into something personalized and memorable. It’s an effortless way to customize your spread for holidays, themed dinners, or special celebrations while keeping the food approachable and inviting.See the recipe featured on our Lady & the Tramp Disney dinner
Antipasto Board
Ingredients:
- Pre-sliced Italian Meats (salami, prosciutto, soprressata)
- Fresh Mozzarella
- Sliced Provolone
- Mixed Olives
- Grapes
- Strawberries
- Baguette, sliced
- Breadsticks
Instructions:
- Prepare ingredients by rolling or folding meats, cutting out cheeses with cookie cutters, slicing bread, and washing & drying fruits.
- To make the meat roses, use a clean champagne flute and place sliced meat over the rim of the glass. Add slices staggering so they overlap each other. I typically use 3 or 4 slices of meat for the first layer. Repeat a second layer and continue the process until you are happy with the fullness of the rose. On a cutting board, flip the champagne flute over so the meat is on the board. Note: you can also use a wine glass or round drinking glass if you’d like a larger rose.
Arrange your board beginning with meats and cheeses. Fill in the empty spaces with fruits. Add olives to fill in gaps. Add small cheese shapes to finish your board. Serve with breadsticks and sliced baguette.
What makes an antipasto board so special is its flexibility. With just a few quality ingredients and a thoughtful arrangement, it can feel casual or elevated, classic or whimsical. Using cookie cutters to shape cheese is an easy way to tailor the board to your theme—subtle enough to feel refined, yet playful enough to spark conversation. Whether you’re hosting a themed dinner, planning a party, or simply setting out a beautiful appetizer for friends and family, this approach proves that it’s often the smallest details that make the biggest impact at the table.
