A football charcuterie board is the perfect way to bring a playful, crowd-pleasing centerpiece to your game day spread. Built around a pepperoni “football” and surrounded by a mix of cheeses, crackers, fruits, and savory bites, this board is as fun to assemble as it is to serve. It’s ideal for football parties, tailgates at home, or Super Bowl gatherings when you want something eye-catching that guests can graze on all game long.
football charcuterie
Serves 8-10 as an appetizer
Ingredients
- 1 wedge brie
- Pepperoni slices
- Toothpicks
- Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
- Assorted cheeses (such as cheddar, Colby Jack, and pepper jack), cut into cubes, wedges, and slices
- Crackers
- Green grapes
- Blueberries
- Mini dill pickles
- Kalamata or black olives
Directions
- Make the pepperoni football: Accordion-fold pepperoni slices and thread them onto toothpicks. Repeat until each toothpick is full. Make approximately 16 pepperoni picks.
Arrange the filled toothpicks on their sides on the center of your board, using two picks end-to-end for the widest sections to form a football shape.
Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut ⅓-inch-wide strips of sliced Monterey Jack cheese. Lay one long strip down the center of the football and add shorter strips across it to resemble football stitching. Add narrow strips to the ends of the football to resemble stitching.
- Add the cheeses: Cut the brie into a triangular wedge. Cut the remaining cheeses into a mix of cubes, slices, and triangles for visual variety.
Arrange the cheeses around the board, spacing them evenly—think clock placement at approximately 2 o’clock, 5 o’clock, 7 o’clock, and 11 o’clock.
- Add the crackers: Arrange crackers along the left and right sides of the board, filling the spaces between the cheeses and framing the football.
- Add the savory elements: Place mini dill pickles and olives between the ends of the football and the crackers to create balance and contrast.
5. Add the fruit: Add clusters of green grapes at the top and bottom of the board. Scatter blueberries around the football to fill in the center and soften the overall look.
Tips for success
Board choice: A large oval or round board works best for this board. Check out our recommendations in the shopping link at the bottom of this post.
Prep ahead: Assemble all components ahead of time and build the board just before guests arrive for the freshest look.

Shop the Post
This football charcuterie board comes together with simple ingredients, but the right serving board makes all the difference. I’ve linked a few favorite charcuterie boards and serving platters in my Amazon shop that work beautifully for football-shaped designs. Look for a board with enough surface area to highlight the pepperoni football while leaving room for cheeses and accompaniments.
